2022 Football Schedule: Rabun County Wildcats

It’s a brand new era at Rabun County, which is bittersweet and still feels a little weird. Gone are 20-plus seniors off the elite Class of 2022, including 5-star UGA QB Gunner Stockton, who is already in the thick of it in Athens. Gone is Jaybo Shaw, who left for Wayne County, ending a Shaw-era at Rabun (Lee & Jaybo) that’s been in place since 2012. Gone is nearly every coach on that staff, though coach Michael Davis (last year’s OC) takes over.

Also…the team will of course be missing a truck-load of playmakers, especially on the O-Line. However, back is All-American receiver Jaden Gibson, who now has nearly 10 offers, All-State RB Lang Windham, and playmakers such as Cory Keller, Cesar Cruz, and Willie Goodwyn, as well as Nic Baloga. Not to mention transfer SR QB Keegan Stover, whose recruiting is beginning to intensify. Waiting in the wings is FR QB Ty Truelove, who is taking Power 5 visits and getting tons of attention. All that to say, here’s the 2022 schedule, per Rabun County’s announcement via their Twitter on March 23. Note, the Wildcats move down into Class 1A, and will be joined in a new region with Commerce, Athens Christian, and Elbert County to form a 4-team football region. The schedule opponents all made the playoffs last season, so there are no easy ones out there.
