Week Eleven Power Rankings

We’re down to the final week of the regular season after Week 11 came and went. Here are the newest BLITZ Power Rankings for Week 11.

#1 » JEFFERSON

RECORD: 8-1
LAST GAME:
L 6-11 vs #5 North Oconee
NEXT GAME: vs Madison County
PREVIOUS RANKING: #1

The Dragons fell in what was the region championship loss to North Oconee. Though Malaki Starks returned, and Jordan Perry has been back, the team still isn’t complete without Sammy Brown, who is injured. Jefferson will still get the first playoff game at home, but will likely be on the road often. Time to move on from the loss and regroup against Madison County in the season finale.

#2 » RABUN COUNTY

RECORD: 9-1
LAST GAME:
W 56-14 @ Union County
NEXT GAME: BYE
PREVIOUS RANKING: #2

Rabun County polished off the 2021 regular season with a region title win at Union County. The starters didn’t play a down in the second half, and head into their BYE week before the playoffs almost completely healthy and ready to go. The Wildcats are shooting for nothing less than a state title game.

#3 » COMMERCE

RECORD: 6-3
LAST GAME:
W 31-20 vs #7 Washington-Wilkes
NEXT GAME: @ Lincoln County
PREVIOUS RANKING: #4

The Tigers got a monumental top-10 win over Wash-Wilkes that sets up a winner-take-all for the 8-A Public title against Lincoln County. This team is hitting its stride at perhaps the perfect time.

#4 » STEPHENS COUNTY

RECORD: 6-3
LAST GAME:
L 7-16 vs #2 Oconee County
NEXT GAME: @ East Jackson
PREVIOUS RANKING: #3

The Indians dropped another heartbreaking game in a loss to #2 Oconee County. Stephens County has been hit by the injury bug, playing without Ben Stowe this time around and the game prior he was mostly hurt. The Indians need him back to be at full strength.

#5 » DAWSON COUNTY

RECORD: 5-4
LAST GAME:
W 42-8 vs Lumpkin County
NEXT GAME: vs North Hall
PREVIOUS RANKING: #5

The Tigers have been phenomenal through the region portion of the schedule. Dawson has clinched a playoff spot, and now has a chance to claim the region runner-up spot if it can take a win over North Hall.

#6 » WHITE COUNTY

RECORD: 4-5
LAST GAME:
W 52-25 vs Gilmer
NEXT GAME: vs #6 Cherokee Bluff
PREVIOUS RANKING: #8

The Warriors grabbed a huge region win heading into their regular season finale against Cherokee Bluff. White County is in the playoff picture, but would love to get the upset over the Bears.

#7 » HABERSHAM CENTRAL

RECORD: 3-6
LAST GAME:
BYE
NEXT GAME: vs Shiloh
PREVIOUS RANKING: #7

Habersham got a BYE week following its win over Central Gwinnett, and now seek to close the season with momentum that could carry on to next season. It’s a great opportunity for a victory.

#8 » TOWNS COUNTY

RECORD: 4-5
LAST GAME:
L 22-42 @ Social Circle
NEXT GAME: vs Washington-Wilkes
PREVIOUS RANKING: #6

The Indians dropped a fourth consecutive contest at Social Circle, and now look to close out the season at .500 if they can grab a win. That won’t be easy, as Wash-Wilkes is coming off being ranked #7 before losing to Commerce.

#9 » UNION COUNTY

RECORD: 2-6
LAST GAME:
L 14-56 vs #1 Rabun County
NEXT GAME: @ Gilmer
PREVIOUS RANKING: #9

Union County dropped to 2-6 overall heading into their regular season finale. Up next is a rare non-region meeting with Gilmer prior to the state playoffs. They’ll use this as a final tune-up.

#10 » BANKS COUNTY

RECORD: 2-6
LAST GAME:
BYE
NEXT GAME: vs Elbert County
PREVIOUS RANKING: #10

Banks County had a BYE week, and now turn its attention to Elbert who comes in for the regular season finale. Banks already has a playoff spot after beating Riverside, but would love to flex a little more in this final game.

#11 » LUMPKIN COUNTY

RECORD: 2-7
LAST GAME:
L 8-42 @ Dawson County
NEXT GAME: @ West Hall
PREVIOUS RANKING: #11

The Indians have one game left in 2021, and that comes at West Hall (3-6). Both teams are out of the playoff picture, but both would love to finish off the season with a win. Lumpkin has a chance here to do some damage!
