One of the most consistent programs in Northeast Georgia has been Stephens County. The Lady Indians have made state in 6 straight seasons, and looking to go 7-for-7 in 2021. Officially no players are left from the State Runner-Up 2017 group, and they’ve lost one of their best players in Jasmine Lowery. However, there is enough experience on the roster to retool on the fly and get back to the postseason.

Head Coach: Dave Poffenberger, 6th Season
2020 Record:
12-18; State Rnd 1

Personnel

Key Departures: Jasmine Lowery

Key Returning Players: Laney McGee

Lowery is gone (.451 AVG, 6 HR, 28 RBI), but the reigning Region POY Laney McGee (.443 AVG, 2 HR, 44 RBI) is back to anchor the lineup as a senior. This team will have 3 seniors that will need to lead the way on and off the field.

Strengths & Areas of Focus

Strengths: Heart of the lineup. With McGee back, there will be plenty of offense there.

Focusing On: Getting on base. The girls need to get on base to maximize the prowess of McGee.
