As we just reported last week, Spencer Adams’ next promotion was coming soon…just days after we reported on his last two stellar starts, in which he threw 15 scoreless innings, striking out 12, he has been promoted to the AAA Charlotte Knights.
The #12-ranked prospect in the Chicago White Sox organization, the White County 2014 alumni has gone 3-6 with a 4.59 ERA in 13 starts this season for AA Birmingham Barons.
His last three starts, he’s gone 1-0 with a 0.43 ERA, allowing 13 hits, three walks and striking out 15 in 21 innings of work. He’s lowered his season ERA to 4.59 from 6.42.
Adams’ next scheduled start would be on June 15, which would pit him against the Norfolk Tides Friday night on the road. That schedule could be altered, however. Adams will wear #18 for the Knights.
The 22-year-old has pitched in 100 games exactly so far in his professional career, going 35-41 with a 3.92 overall ERA and striking out 421 hitters while walking just 113 in 555.1 innings pitched.
