What an incredible performance by all our local girls teams, who all advanced to the Sweet 16 with huge round one wins. This includes Towns County, Rabun County, Lumpkin County, Dawson County and White County girls.
Lumpkin and Habersham boys fell in the opening round, but the Dawson County group is still alive. Here are the Sweet 16 Previews:

Class 3A – May 1
#2 Dawson County @ #1 Westminster

This has all the feels of a state championship game, as the Westminster girls are #1 in Class 3A, and the Lady Tigers #6. This matchup is gigantic. Dawson cruised to an 8-1 win over Monroe Area, while Westminster won 9-0 over Calhoun.
#3 Lumpkin County @ #1 Bremen

Much like Dawson/Westminster, this game too has all the makings of a state championship. This side of the bracket is ridiculously tough. Bremen is undefeated and #4 in the state, while Lumpkin is #5. Lumpkin won 2-0 over Morgan County, while Bremen took an easy 10-0 win over Redan.
