BOYS TRACK & FIELD

GREY BOURLET

Grey Bourlet finished his career by leading the Tallulah boys to a 3rd place podium finish at state. The vaulter and hurdler was a 5-time top-5 placer at state and 6 times came in top 10. He won 4 area titles individually, and 3 times was runner-up. His PRs include a 13-6 in PV, 14.97 in 110 MH, and 40.67 in 300 MH.


BRAD CHOSEWOOD

Brad Chosewood put in the work – and boy did it pay off. He polished his career off with a State Championship in Discus with a throw of 173-05, and a Runner-Up in Shot Put (57-9). The latter was a PR, and his Discus PR was set during his junior year at 185-5. He was an invitee and participated in the New Balance Nationals Outdoor 3 times, and was the AAU Georgia District Champion in 2023 in Shot Put. He totaled 5 region titles (3 in discus, 2 in shot put), and 6 top-10 finishes at state. That includes his 2024 Discus Championship, Runner-Up in 2023 and 2024 in Shot Put, 3rd-place in Discus in 2023, 7th in Shot Put in 2022, and 8th in Discus in 2022. He was also 13th in Discus in his freshman 2021 season after coming in 3rd at Region. He went on to compete at Dartmouth.


GUY GOBER

Also a cross country BLITZ Hall of Famer in this class of 2019, Gober was a 3-time state champion and 5-time region champion in track & field. He placed in the top 10 at state 7 times in the 1600 and 3200 runs. His 1600 PR of 4:29 and 3200 PR of 10:05 are both school records. Gober has won BLITZ Runner or T&F Athlete of the Year twice. He continued his career at UGA.


COLTON LAND

Colton Land was stellar in the throws at Dawson County. He was the State RU in the discus as a senior, and had a total of three top-5 placements at the state level between discus and shot put. He won three region titles (twice in discus).


BRANDON MARTIN

Brandon Martin, also a Cross Country BLITZ HOFer, won 5 region titles in track and field, and once was a runner-up. The distance star was a 2-time state champion (giving him 5 total state titles adding his cross country ones), and 6 times in track and field came in the top 5. His PR for the 800 was 2:04, 4:31 for the 1600, and 9:29 in the 3200. He guided the track and field program for the boys at Commerce to multiple state titles. Martin went on to compete at Emmanuel College.


ELI MORRIS

The 2019 BLITZ T&F Athlete of the Year, Morris excelled in hurdles as one of the best in the nation among high schoolers. He won a pair of state titles in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles as a senior, and won 2 region titles as well. All told, he had 4 state top-5 finishes, and his PR for the 110 (13.63) and 300 (37.67) were the best in the state. He went on to compete at Baylor University prior to eventually going to the University of Arkansas.


ZATRICK PEARCE

Pearce was an incredible athlete for Tallulah Falls, and a state champion, as well as a 2-time state runner-up. The sprinter/jumper placed in the top 10 at state on 6 occasions, and won a pair of region championships. He also had 9 region/area top-10 finishes. His PRs for each event: 100M (10.94), 200M (21.85), 400M (48.14), and Long Jump (21-7). Pearce was a BLITZ Athlete of the Year, and went on to star at Augusta University.


AUSTIN PIERCE

BLITZ HOF - Austin Pierce - LUMPKIN CO

Austin Pierce became one of the top sprinters in the state, winning a state championship his junior year. The speedster was named the BLITZ Track Athlete of the Year subsequently and went on to compete at the Naval Academy.


JACOB POSTON

Poston was an elite runner for Dawson County, accumulating quite the honors in track & field as well as cross country. In T&F, he was a 4-time region champ and 2-time runner-up, and 3 times finished in the top 5 at state (6 times in the top 10). He ran a PR of 1:57 in the 800 and a 4:21 in the 1600. Poston went to run at Augusta University. He was a 2-time BLITZ Athlete of the Year.


JACKSON RAMEY

Jackson Ramey went full beast mode as a thrower for Banks County. He was a two-time region champion in the shot put, and two-time runner-up in the discus event. At state, he was a runner-up and third in discus, and 10th and 7th in shot put. Ramey will continue his career at Wingate University. Ramey’s personal best in the discus event is 157-6.5, and 48-7.5 in the shot put.


MICHAEL ROBERTS

Jefferson’s Michael Roberts won a state title in 2025 as a senior in the 400, in the same year he was 3rd at state in the Triple Jump. He won both of those events at the Region Championships, and also placed 10th at state in the 200. He won three region titles in the TJ, and had three top-5s at state and six top-10s. His PR in the 200 was 22.28, 48.05 in the 400, and 48-3.75 in the TJ.


MATTHEW SCHROEDER

Matthew Schroeder is a two-way BLITZ HOFer (earning it in XC as well). The distance star won a pair of state titles in his 2022 senior season, taking the top spot in the 800 and 1600. In track and field, he let go of the 3200 after his junior year. It paid off, as he won the region titles in the 800 and 1600 as well as a senior. He finished with four top-10 finishes at state and three region titles. His PRs including 1:54 in the 800, 4:22 in the 1600, and 9:57 in the 3200. He could have had more had he not lost the 2020 season.


ANDREW SEAY

BLITZ HOF - Andrew Seay HABERSHAM

Seay was an incredibly gifted athlete at Hab Central, nearly winning a state title in shot put. That 2010 season earned him BLITZ Track & Field Athlete of the Year honors. He placed third at the USATF Region III Junior Olympics with a PR of 156-4 ½ in the discus. At the Region 8-AAAA meet, Seay won the shot put at a PR of 47’11 and took third in the discus. He took second in both events at the USATF Georgia Championships. Seay went on to compete at the University of South Carolina.


SHANNON SEGARS

Shannon Segars was before COVID looking to repeat as a state champion in the long jump. He is a one-time state champion, and came in third another time at state in that event. He won an area title in the long jump, and was a runner-up once. In the triple jump, he finished sixth at area once. Segars was named BLITZ T&F Athlete of the Year in 2020, and headed to Kennesaw State University to continue his career. His PR in the long jump is 23-1, and 42-7.5 in the triple jump.


ETHAN SMITH

Ethan Smith had a stellar career in cross country and probably moreso in track and field. He won a total of five region titles, two of them individually (junior year in 400 & 800). In 2021, he won region titles in the 400, 800, 4×400, and 4×800. He was the anchor on the 4×400 team that won region in 2022 (while finishing second in the 400, 800, and 4×200). He finished inside the top-5 at state three times (and had four podium finishes in total), including fourth and fifth in the 800 in junior and senior year, respectively. He was a vital part of the Dawson County record-setting 4×400 and 4×800 teams, which each won a region title as well. His PR in the 400 was 51.53 and 1:56 in the 800.


GRIFFIN STEPHENS

Griffin Stephens played a huge role in the incredible success of the Banks County Leopards track and field program. During his time, he was a two-time state runner up in the distance events (1600/3200), a one-time region champion, and a 4-time placer in the top 10 at state. His PR in the 1600 was 4:34, and it was 9:58 in the 3200. Stephens is also a BLITZ Hall of Famer in Cross Country, and was Runner of the Year as a senior.


WYATT WINDHAM

The distance GOAT – Wyatt Windham, who’s also in the BLITZ HOF as a XC phenom, also gets in based on his track and field performances. He won a pair of state titles (800/1600 in 2024 as a junior), and was a 3-time State RU (twice in 3200, once in 1600). In total, Windham had eight state top-10s, and won five region titles. His PR in the 800 (1:55.26), 1600 (4:17.00), and 3200 (9:04.56) are what earned him an opportunity to sign and go to Georgia Tech as a legit, elite DI runner.


CHARLIE WOERNER

BLITZ HOF - Charlie Woerner RABUN CO

Woerner is also a BLITZ HOFer in football. The 2014 BLITZ Track & Field Athlete of the Year as just a sophomore, he was exceptional in shot put, discus and 110 meter hurdles. That sophomore year he placed 3rd in the state in 110 meter hurdles and shot put, and 4th in discus. He won the region title in shot put and 110 meter hurdles. In his senior year, Woerner was region champ in shot put and discus, finishing 6th in shot put at state while winning a state title in discus. Woerner’s football career was more prestigious, where he played at UGA and was then drafted by the San Francisco 49ers of the NFL in 2020.
