Each week throughout the school year, we recognize the teams who we feel stood out the most. Teams of the Week are presented by Cofield Outdoors!

FOOTBALL – JEFFERSON DRAGONS

The Dragons secured a fifth consecutive region title by beating #3 powerhouse North Oconee, 27-17. Jefferson never trailed, and got a pair of TD passes from Boone Horn to Austen Kitchings. Jefferson wraps up its regular season with an 8-2 record, region title, and seven straight wins.

SOFTBALL – JEFFERSON LADY DRAGONS

The Lady Dragons finally did it! After being so close several times over the years, Jefferson rolled through Columbus and went unbeaten in the bracket, including winning the championship game to earn its first-ever state title in softball!

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY – UNION COUNTY LADY PANTHERS

The Lady Panthers of Union County won the GHSA Class 3A Sectionals for Regions 5-8. Clara Davis led with a 13th-place run, and Tessa Schurter was 16th. They placed four in the top-25 to win the race.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY – LUMPKIN COUNTY INDIANS

At the GHSA 3A Sectionals, Lumpkin County edged out Union County on the boys side for the Sectionals Championship. Witt Windham won individually with a 16:20 final time, and Nickson McGillivray, Evan Good, and Paulo Ramirez all came in the top-10 as well.
