A trio of veteran playmakers were named BLITZ Players of the Week in Kolson Howell (Lumpkin County), JK Fruster (Rabun County), and Max Brown (Jefferson). Howell wins the Fan Vote after taking 5,176 of the 7,667 total votes. Fruster and Brown were the BLITZ Picks.
KOLSON HOWELL – LUMPKIN COUNTY
Kolson Howell has emerged as the best running QB in our area. He showcased that in a wild win over East Forsyth, in which he passed for 97 yards but then rushed for 159 and five touchdowns. This is his second career POW award.
JK FRUSTER – RABUN COUNTY
Rabun County SR RB JK Fruster leads the area in rushing TDs. He now has 11 on the season, and five of them came in the overtime loss to Gilmer. He racked up 130 rushing yards and 21 receiving yards in the contest. This is his first POW award.
Crystal Award
For those who really want to showcase a BLITZ award, you can order a Crystal Trophy for Player of the Year, Hall of Fame, or even Player of the Week if you’d like.
MAX BROWN – JEFFERSON
Max Brown showed out against Oconee County. The Jefferson senior LB/RB had a rushing TD while coming up with 58 yards, but truly shined more on defense. He registered 15 total tackles, including one for loss in a second straight shutout win for the Dragons. This is Brown’s fourth career POW award.
