Each week throughout the school year, we recognize the teams who we feel stood out the most. Teams of the Week are presented by Cofield Outdoors!

FOOTBALL – TOWNS COUNTY INDIANS

The White County Warriors posted a dramatic 20-14 overtime win over Union County to start the season at 2-0. It took a Brinn Robinson – Savion Anderson 13-yd TD in extra time and the Warriors defense buckling down after going down 14-0 early.

SOFTBALL – BANKS COUNTY LADY LEOPARDS

Banks County is 11-2 overall and 1-0 in region play. Despite some minor hiccups, the Lady Leopards rebounded last week with four victories in a row! The expectations are sky-high for this team.

• AUG 10-15: Franklin County Lady Lions
• AUG 17-22: Lumpkin County Lady Indians
• AUG 24-29: Banks County Lady Leopards

VOLLEYBALL – UNION COUNTY LADY PANTHERS

The best team in our area right now is Union County. The Lady Panthers are 17-3 overall on the year, and have won four in a row. They’re ranked #6 in the state, and also had a 10-game win streak earlier this season.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY – DAWSON COUNTY LADY TIGERS

Dawson County had a great showing at the North GA Championships, placing 2nd as a team. The Lady Tigers had four top-20 finishers, including 11th-13th in Ella Carrington, Maria Gloeckner, and Sarah Carrington. Harper Shirley was 18th.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY – LUMPKIN COUNTY INDIANS

Even without the services of star runner Witt Windham, Lumpkin County flexed with a 1st-place finish at the North GA Championships in Commerce. The Indians had Evan Good place 3rd, Nickson McGillivray 6th, Paulo Ramirez 17th, and Cannon Cole 18th.
