The three Player of the Week award winners from softball are Emma Kate Powell (Stephens County), Riley Dyer (Lumpkin County), and River Evans (Rabun County). Powell won the Fan Vote with 10,424 of the 25,389 total votes, while Dyer and Evans were the BLITZ Picks.

EMMA KATE POWELL – STEPHENS COUNTY

Emma Kate Powell has been on a surge as of late. The Stephens County sophomore first baseman tallied six hits on the week to the tune of a .667 batting average, which inlcuded a double. This is her first POW award.

RILEY DYER – LUMPKIN COUNTY

Riley Dyer put up some video game numbers last week. The Lumpkin County junior ace was a flawless 4-0 with a spotless ERA (0.00). She recorded 34 strikeouts in 25 innings of work, walking just three and holding opponents to a microscopic .095 average. This is her second career POW award.

RIVER EVANS – RABUN COUNTY

Slugger River Evans has been on a tear to start the 2026 season. The junior catcher got it done at the plate with a .444 average, two homers, and six RBI and six runs scored. She also got it done BEHIND the plate, gunning down two would-be base stealers. This is Evans’ fourth career POW award, and she marks the 300th all-time Rabun County athlete to win it – the first BLITZ school to reach the mark.
