Habersham Central (1-3) and White County (3-1) had been plagued for over a week in trying to get games in. It almost happened again, as the second game on Thursday in Mt. Airy faced a 40-minute delay due to lightning. However, the game resumed as the Lady Warriors took a 10-6 final after trailing 5-0, and won the opener 4-1.

The Lady Raiders backed starter Callie Craver with a 5-0 lead, courtesy of a run coming on an error in the first before a 4-run second, highlighted by a 2-run homerun off the bat of Khloe Hunt, which was preceeded by an RBI single from Sydney McCalmon.

White County got an RBI hit from Olivia Latty in the third to make it a 5-1 game, and scored three more in the fourth. In that frame, Malena Smith had a 2-run single to make it a 1-run deficit.

The offense generated six runs in the fifth. Addy Harris had an RBI triple to tie the game, then moments later Alexa Turner’s hit brought in a run for a 7-5 lead. Smith added a 2-run single, and Latty had another RBI hit of her own. It was 10-5 going into the bottom of the fifth.

Habersham Central added one run in the home half, but the last two innings produced none. White County is now 3-1 overall, while the Lady Raiders drop to 1-3.
