The Indians for a third straight year are forced to lose a program legend. Mason Sullens (after 2023), Cal Faulkner (2024), and Nolan Matthews (2025). However, the culture under Heath Webb has been outstanding, and the Indians might look different, but will have that next man up mentality.

Head Coach: Heath Webb (5th Season)
2025 Record: 6-5; Region 4th; State Rnd 1

“I really like this team,” exclaims coach Heath Webb. “They love each other and play for each other. Not sure how we match up with the new region opponents, but I feel confident that these guys will compete with anyone.”

2026 SCHEDULE – LUMPKIN COUNTY

Key Returning Players: Martin Hulsey, Mac Powell, Kolson Howell, Rylan Armstrong, Weston Veater, Damian Walls, Caleb Soles, Micah Popko

Up & Coming Players: Joseph Alvarez (RB/CB), Weston Veater (moving to RB)

Offense: Power Spread
Kolson Howell moves to QB, and has been very active this offseason and gaining a lot of next level traction at camps. He could be the real deal, and delivers a great ball coupled with great athleticism. Weston Veater becomes the bell-cow back, and Joseph Alvarez will also factor into the running game. At WR, the Indians are set with Martin Hulsey and Mac Powell, who both have DI offers and great height with over 1,000 yards and 10 TDs combined.

Defense: Multiple 3-4
The defense will be comprised of several young and inexperienced guys who will have to grow up fast. That said, Veater (LB) and CB Micah Popko will be the top players on that side of the ball.

Trenches: “Large humans and a lot of depth,” says Webb. “Good experience on O. Need to gain experience on D.”

STRENGTHS & AREAS OF FOCUS

Strengths: “Size,” states Webb, who notes the O-Line in itself is an anchor for this team.

Focusing On: “Building a new defense with Brian Allison as DC,” adds Webb.
