Through each full week of sports in the school year, we’ll recognize the Teams of the Week, brought to you by Cofield Outdoors!

Baseball – Franklin County Lions
The Lions motor on to the State Final 4! After coming up as State Runner-Up last season, Franklin County is looking for more of the same. The Lions beat Appling County in a grueling 3-game series, coming back from dropping the first game 6-1. They won 11-2 and 11-5 to pull off the reverse sweep, and now take on Morgan County on May 14-15 in the Semifinals.

Boys Soccer – Tallulah Falls Indians
Tallulah Falls tied its program record with a 16th straight win. This one was a tight 4-3 final over Tattnall Square to get the Indians back into the Elite 8 for just the second time.

Girls Soccer – Jefferson Lady Dragons
The Lady Dragons are now the only local team left standing for girls soccer. Jefferson had no problems against Dawson County, winning 5-0 to reach their third state championship game in the last five years. It pits them against Oconee County, a region foe, for a second straight season in the state title match. It’s slated for May 12.

Tennis – Rabun County Wildcats
Rabun County punched out Model in a 3-1 final at home to reach the State Championship for the first time. The Wildcats are to take on Brantley County in the title match, which takes place on May 13.
