Through each full week of sports in the school year, we’ll recognize the Teams of the Week, brought to you by Cofield Outdoors!

Baseball – Dawson County Tigers
The Tigers entered the 3A state tournament as the 26-seed, clinching a spot in the final regular season series. Dawson County swept #7 Luella in the opening round to reach the Sweet 16!

Boys Soccer – Towns County Indians
The Indians made no drama about their first round, demolishing Irwin County in a mercy-rule 10-0 final.

Girls Soccer – Rabun County Lady Wildcats
The Lady Wildcats as the 21-seed traveling to 12-seed Vidalia made for quite a journey. Rabun County wasn’t fazed, and doubled up Vidalia 4-2 to reach the Sweet 16!

Boys Tennis – Jefferson Dragons
The Dragons were the #25 seed in the 3A bracket. Nevertheless, Jefferson shocked #8 Mary Persons with a 3-2 win to reach the Sweet 16!

Girls Tennis – Commerce Lady Tigers
#24 seed Commerce didn’t pay attention to that rank. The Lady Tigers won 3-2 at #9 Putnam County to reach the Sweet 16.

Boys Track & Field – Union County Panthers
The Union County Panthers won the Region Championship, and took the top spot in eight different events. Holden Payne was responsible for three individually, as the distance runner took the 800/1600/3200, and was also on one of the two relays that won gold.

Girls Track & Field – Jefferson Lady Dragons
The Lady Dragons just obliterated the rest of the field. While securing a region title, Jefferson had six 1st-place event finishes and nine 2nd-place finishes overall.

Golf – Habersham Central Lady Raiders
Habersham Central won the Area Championship, and junior Charlotte Smith carded a 75 with three birdies to lead the Lady Raiders to more history, as they’ll advance to the state tournament.
