
The BLITZ Track & Field Athletes of the Week are: Lola Hunter (Union), Ansley Moore (Banks), Holden Payne (Union), Witt Windham (Lumpkin), Ryan Anderson (Tallulah), Joanna Miller (Tallulah), Savannah Jackson (Franklin), and Will Gipson (Franklin).
LOLA HUNTER – UNION COUNTY

Lola Hunter added four more region titles to her collection. The Union County senior distance star won the 800 (2:31.14), 1600 (5:42.18), and 3200 (13:08.15), then also won the 4×800 Relay to help the Lady Panthers to a team region title. This is her 8th career POW award.


ANSLEY MOORE – BANKS COUNTY

Ansley Moore of Banks County swept the long distance events at the Region Championships. The Lady Leopards’ senior won the 800 (2:21.19), 1600 (5:36.08), and 3200 (12:45.40). This is her 4th career POW award.


HOLDEN PAYNE – UNION COUNTY

Holden Payne helped guide Union County to a team region title. The senior won the 800 (2:02.32), 1600 (4:41.73), and 3200 (10:21.00). This is his first POW award.


WITT WINDHAM – LUMPKIN COUNTY

Witt Windham obliterated the distance events, winning the 3200 (9:47.90), 1600 (4:31.02), and 800 (1:57.92). The Lumpkin County sophomore wins his 7th career POW award.


RYAN ANDERSON – TALLULAH FALLS

Ryan Anderson was the region champ in the 400 (51:02) and 800 (1:59.77), and was 3rd in the 1600 (4:40.81) while also starring in the 4×800 region title winning relay for Tallulah Falls. This is the junior’s first POW award.


JOANNA MILLER – TALLULAH FALLS

Joanna Miller won two more region titles, giving her five for her career. The Tallulah Falls junior won the 400 (1:00.25), 200 (25.70 – School Record), and 100 (12.50 – School Record). She was also the runner-up in the long jump (15-8.5), and won the region High Point Award with 36 total points. Her efforts helped TFS to a program-best Region RU finish.


SAVANNAH JACKSON – FRANKLIN COUNTY

Franklin County sophomore Savannah Jackson tallied three region titles. The distance standout won the 800 (2:36.68), 1600 (5:59.90), and 3200 (13:39.70). She was a huge reason the team won the region title. This is her first POW award.

WILL GIPSON – FRANKLIN COUNTY

Franklin County state champion Will Gipson ran his way to a pair of region titles in the championship meet. The senior won the 1600 (4:36.41) and the 3200 (10:20.54). This is his third career POW award.
