We had 6 Finalists chosen by BLITZ for Boys Basketball Player of the Year. We put up a select group of nominees who didn’t make our cut for the Fan Vote for a ‘Last Finalist’ to join that 6. After 9,536 total votes, Cooper Welch (Rabun County) claimed the Last Finalist spot by taking 5,663 of the votes. The finalist pool is now set for Basketball Player of the Year. WHAT’S NEXT? BLITZ has an internal voting panel (not public vote) that will cast a digital ballot by ranking the finalists 1-7. This voting produces a point total (Heisman-style voting) to determine the Player of the Year.
