Addison Hoard wins ‘Last Finalist’ vote to join Player of the Year Finalists
We had 7 Finalists chosen by BLITZ for Girls Basketball Player of the Year. We put up a select group of nominees who didn’t make our cut for the Fan Vote for a ‘Last Finalist’ to join that 7. After 29,911 total votes, Addison Hoard (Banks County) claimed the Last Finalist spot by taking 13,812 of the votes. The finalist pool is now set for Basketball Player of the Year. The girls up for the award are: Kyia Barrett (Habersham), Kamryn Grier (Banks), Addison Hoard (Banks), Lucy Hood (Rabun), Averie Jones (Lumpkin), Denika Lightbourne (Tallulah Falls), Mary Mullinax (Lumpkin), and Naomi Roberts (White).
WHAT’S NEXT? BLITZ has an internal voting panel (not public vote) that will cast a digital ballot by ranking the finalists 1-8. This voting produces a point total (Heisman-style voting) to determine the Player of the Year.
