Junior guards named Players of the Week
The BLITZ Fan Vote for Girls Basketball Player of the Week was Lucy Hood (Rabun County) after taking 3,650 of the 5,890 total votes. BLITZ then named Averie Jones (Lumpkin County) as Co-POW.
LUCY HOOD – RABUN COUNTY
Lucy Hood claims her second POW award of the season and sixth of her illustrious career. The junior guard helped guide the #2-ranked Lady Wildcats of Rabun County get to the Sweet 16 by averaging 18.5 points, 5.0 assists, and 4.0 steals per game. That included notching her 1,000th career point!

Lumpkin County is back in the Final 4. Star junior guard Averie Jones is a big reason why. The #2-ranked Lady Indians got 26.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists and steals by Jones last week. She claims her second POW award of the season and fourth of her career.
