Marshall, Brown take Wrestler of the Week honors
The BLITZ Fan Vote for Wrestler of the Week was Austin Marshall (Lumpkin County) after taking 10,377 of the 28,629 total votes. BLITZ then named Sammy Brown (Jefferson) as Co-POW.
AUSTIN MARSHALL – LUMPKIN COUNTY
The greats show up on the biggest stage. Austin Marshall proved his greatness in a Class 3A State Championship at the GHSA Traditional State Championship last week. The junior 132-pounder polished off his 2022-23 season for Lumpkin County with a 42-12 record that ended at the top!

SAMMY BROWN – JEFFERSON
One of – if not THE BEST – athlete in the state of Georgia unsurprisingly (though impressively) won a State Championship for the Jefferson Dragons last week. Junior Sammy Brown won his most recent Traditional State Championship in the highest weight class at 285 LB. Brown finished his junior season with a 24-2 overall record. This is Brown’s third POW award this year and 8th of his career. Brown becomes Jefferson’s 100th all-time BLITZ POW.
