Pitch Preview: Tallulah Falls Lady Indians

The Lady Indians are coming off back-to-back region runner-up finishes and state playoff qualifications. Last season’s 11 wins was a program record, and with 9 starters running it back, there’s little reason to believe this team can’t be the best version yet.

HEAD COACH: Travis Mullis (4th Season)
2022 RECORD: 11-5; Region 8-A Private Runner-Up; 1A Private State Qualifier
RETURNING STARTERS: 9
KEY DEPARTURES: Honora Kahwach, Kat Williams
KEY PLAYERS: Addie Higbie (1st-Team All-Region M), Kyndal Anderson (2nd-Team All-Region GK), Jenna Chesser (2nd-Team All-Region), Maddie Mullis (2nd-Team All-Region), Gemma Farris (HM All-Region)
STRENGTHS: “Overall good quality in every position plus strong substitutes/team connectedness,” says Mullis. “These girls KNOW one another because they were the first TFS MS girls team back in 2019.”

As it stands, returning a talented roster headlined by Addie Higbie is tremendous. Yes, Honora Kahwach was a next-level talent, and Kat Williams was great on defense. But Higbie has a chance to shatter the school scoring records, and Kyndal Anderson has shown she can be one of the best keepers in the region. This team looks to have better chemistry than it ever has before, and that generally translates to more success on the field.

“Our theme is ‘One Team, One Dream’,” says Mullis. “The girls will be challenged to have big dreams for their team this season while readying themselves to compete in a new region. The overarching expectation is to prepare to play each match as if it’s the final one and to mature as people who care for one another-to truly become GREAT!”
