Pitch Preview: Lumpkin County Lady Indians

The powerhouse Lady Indians soccer program under Don Brock is still as good and dangerous as ever. Following an Elite 8 run last season, Lumpkin County is once again looking at a major run and a legitimate shot at the 7-AAA title.

HEAD COACH: Don Brock (14th Season)
2022 RECORD: 16-4-1; 3A State Elite 8; Region 7-AAA Runner-Up; #5 State Ranking
RETURNING STARTERS: 7
KEY DEPARTURES: Reagan Spivey
KEY PLAYERS: Nicole Limehouse, Madi Doles, Rae Lynn Meyers, Ciera Brooks, Ryann Jones, Andrea Limehouse, Mary Richardson, Ellie Lance
STRENGTHS: “We have a great deal of experience returning,” says Brock. “These players have progressed each year and continue to improve. This team works extremely well together and fights hard to win.”

Nicole Limehouse rightfully gets a lot of attention (26 G, 13 A), and sister Andrea (19 G, 9 A) is a fantastic option as well offensively. Madi Doles recorded 7 shutouts between the posts, and Rae Lynn Meyers (5 G, 8 A) joins that group as some of the key players back again. With all hopeful to take a progressive step forward, it should be a special year in Dahlonega.

“We always aim to win the region and compete for a state title,” adds Brock. “This year will be no different. We have added some high-quality young players to the roster and plan to compete in each match.”
