The Raiders didn’t miss the postseason by much last year, closing at 7-10 in a tough region to be the first team out. Hab Central looks to build off last year with 7 returning starters, and make a run at perhaps a third playoff trip since 2019.

HEAD COACH: Chris Akridge (14th Season)
2022 RECORD: 9-20; No Playoffs
KEY DEPARTURES: Azzi Cervantes
KEY PLAYERS: Hunter Tatum, Cooper Shirley, Mason Dawe, Blandon Grizzle, Konner Burrell, Kaleb Chastain
STRENGTHS: “Toughness, Work Ethic, Experience,” states Akridge.

With Azzi Cervantes as the sole impact player gone, this team has a lot of experience, starting with the likes of Hunter Tatum. Cooper Shirley, Mason Dawe, and Blandon Grizzle will be relied upon early and often as well, and others will have to step up in the Raiders’ push to their ultimate goal. Junior Konner Burrell (3.33 ERA) will also look to take the next step on the bump, and JR Kaleb Chastin (OF) will bring his .306 AVG back to the lineup.

“Get back to the state playoffs,” says Akridge plainly on what the team is seeking for 2023.
