Forwards Futch, Hughes take POW awards
The BLITZ Fan Vote for Boys Basketball Player of the Week was Noah Futch (White County) after taking 436 of the 947 total votes. BLITZ then named Hayden Hughes (Union County) as Co-POW.
NOAH FUTCH – WHITE COUNTY
Noah Futch has consistently taken on the bigger role for the #10-ranked White County Warriors that he knew he was going to have coming into the 2022-23 season. The junior forward had a 14-point, 5-rebound, 2-assist effort last week for White County, earning his first-ever POW award.

HAYDEN HUGHES – UNION COUNTY
Hayden Hughes is one of the several playmakers for the Panthers. The sophomore forward is making a name for himself, as evidenced by his efforts across 3 games last week. In consecutive games, he put up career-highs in points, going for 19 first and then 23 the next evening over Athens Academy and Lakeview, respectively. He was 11-for-19 from 3-point range in a stellar display of sharp-shooting in those 2 games, and had 14 triples over the 3 games last week. Overall, he averaged 17.0 points over the week, also averaging 4.0 boards and 2.0 assists. This is Hughes’ first POW award.
