Junior guards claim Player of the Week awards


The BLITZ Fan Vote for Basketball Player of the Week (combined boys/girls) was Brelan Sieveking (Towns County) after taking 2,265 of the 3,823 total votes. BLITZ then named Cooper Welch (Rabun County) as Co-POW.
BRELAN SIEVEKING – TOWNS COUNTY

Junior All-State guard Brelan Sieveking is playing as well as everyone hoped when she took the move from White County to Towns County. The junior averaged 13.3 points, 2.6 steals, and 2.0 assists per game across three contests in the annual Battle of the States Tournament. This is Sieveking’s second career POW award.

COOPER WELCH – RABUN COUNTY

Rabun County’s Cooper Welch has elevated his game as of late. The junior guard averaged 17 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, and connected on 10 total 3-pointers across three games in the Battle of the States Tournament in Towns County. He was named BOS Tournament MVP for his efforts, as the Wildcats earned the signature win. This is Welch’s first POW award.
