Watson, Faulkner, Pittman earn Player of the Week honors


The BLITZ Fan Vote for Boys Basketball Player of the Week saw 6,081 votes come in, with Kolby Watson (Banks County) taking the most at 3,694. BLITZ then named both Cal Faulkner (Lumpkin County) and Bryce Pittman (Habersham Central) as Co-POW.
KOLBY WATSON – BANKS COUNTY

Sophomore Kolby Watson went straight from the gridiron to the hardwood. The forward for Banks County in one game played last week put up 25 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 assists for the Leopards. This is Watson’s first POW award.

CAL FAULKNER – LUMPKIN COUNTY

Cal Faulkner is another player who went straight from playing on the football field to hitting the court with barely (if any) break in between. The sophomore is a next-level talent, and the guard showed out for the Indians last week. Faulkner averaged 37 points (read that again) over 2 games, and was good for 3.5 boards. He scored 35 points in one game and 39 in the next. This is Faulkner’s fourth career POW award.

BRYCE PITTMAN – HABERSHAM CENTRAL

Senior Bryce Pittman is poised for a mammoth final season for the Raiders. The guard/wing averaged 21.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2.3 assists in 3 games played for Habersham Central last week. This is Pittman’s first POW award.
