Wood, Baloga named Defensive Players of the Month
The BLITZ Fan Vote for Football Defensive Player of the Month (Weeks 9-12) saw 22,001 votes come in, with Will Wood (Lumpkin County) taking the most at 10,989. BLITZ then named Nic Baloga (Rabun County) as Co-DPOM.

Will Wood through Weeks 9-12 led the Indians’ top-10 ranked defense. The junior LB posted 29.5 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and a pass breakup to earn his first BLITZ award.

The state’s leading tackler plays football at Rabun County – and an incredible brand of football at that. The SR linebacker Nic Baloga had a mind-boggling 79 tackles during the Week 9-12 span (which included one BYE week for the Cats). He had 2 tackles for loss, and interception (that went for a TD), a PBU, and 14 QB hurries. He has wreaked havoc all year on opposing QBs.
