George, Davis claim Runner of the Week awards
The BLITZ Fan Vote for XC Runner of the Week saw 13,970 votes come in, with Keli George (Lumpkin County) taking the most at 7,190. BLITZ then named Ben Davis (Jefferson) as Co-ROW.
KELI GEORGE – LUMPKIN COUNTY
Lumpkin County freshman Keli George is the latest cross country runner to make a name for herself. She placed 6th in a meet last week with a time of 21:57, which is a new PR for her. This came at the Pickens and Grinnin’ Invitational. This is George’s first POW award.

BEN DAVIS – JEFFERSON
It’s just a matter of time before Ben Davis earned this award. The junior has been running wild in 2022, and showed how good he is last week with a 16:43 time that resulted in a first-place overall finish at the Jefferson Invitational. He followed that up with a 16:29 time, 3rd-place finish at the Coach Wood Invitational. That marked a personal record for Davis, who earns his first POW award.
