Union OL, Towns’ Schmeltz named Habersham EMC Linemen of the Week

The Habersham EMC Linemen of the Week after Week Nine are Union County for the O-Line, and Chance Schmeltz (Towns) for the D-Line.

UNION COUNTY – OL

The entirety of the Union County offensive line earns the OLOW award. The Panthers racked up over 700 yards of offense in a big region win over Providence Christian. That includes 403 yards through the air and 332 rushing yards. The line consists of: LT Ian Sterna (SR), LG Collin Mayo Spiva (JR), C Alex Goodinez (SR), RG Cody Meeks (JR), and RT Noah Helton (SR).

Other Standouts: Mike Swagger (Rabun SR OL #71 – 90% Grade); Brian Senter (Jefferson JR OT #55 – 85% Grade, 3 PNK); Commerce OL ( JonathonOrozco, Logan Sherman, Braxton Epps, Hampton Hutto, Joey Duncan, Colton Hill  – 38 rushes for 474 yds)

CHANCE SCHMELTZ – DL

Chance Schmeltz earns his second LOW award this season. The senior defensive lineman racked up 13 tackles, with 8 going for loss. He registered 5 QB hurries as well for Towns County in their win over Johnson.
