Lumpkin OL, Rabun’s Ortiz named Habersham EMC Linemen of the Week


The Habersham EMC Linemen of the Week after Week Eight are the entire Lumpkin County group for the O-Line, and Rabun’s Emiliano Ortiz for the D-Line.
LUMPKIN COUNTY – OL

The entire Lumpkin County trench crew earns LOW honors after an outstanding performance in their win over #9-ranked Gilmer. JR Trenton Brooksher, SO Jacob Garmany, SO Matthew Reece, JR Lane McColman, and JR Will Soles along with SO TE Walker Scott paved the way to 219 rushing yards and 111 passing yards. That includes a 3-minute, 11-play all-rushing drive of 59 yards to win the game.
Other Standouts: Alex Yearwood (Rabun – 83%; Highest Grade of Year, 0 Sacks allowed); Dylan Hunt (Stephens JR C #55 – 88 grade and does a great job making calls for the OL and also puts ball right where it needs to be for the QB)

EMILIANO ORTIZ – DL

For the second time this season, Rabun County’s Elimiano Ortiz played his way to Lineman of the Week. The senior defensive end registered 8 total tackles (6 solo), and had 3 QB hurries in a 17-14 thrilling win for the Wildcats.
