Sammy Brown earns All-American, Top-10 LB status

Highly-recruited junior (Class of 2024) athlete Sammy Brown was named a Preseason Junior All-American by MaxPreps. Though he is a playmaker on both sides of the ball, the 5-star recruit was named to the 1st Team All-American Defense as a linebacker.

Furthermore, Brown was ranked #10 by MaxPreps in Top-10 Linebackers across the nation. At 6’2″, 220 lbs, Brown is the top-rated linebacker in his class. Despite playing in only seven games for Jefferson last year due to injury, he registered 51 tackles (5 TFL) and three sacks, while also piling up 753 rushing yards and 11 TDs.

Brown profiles as a 5-star recruit by 247 Sports with a .9939 composite score, which puts him as the #5 overall recruit in 2024 and #1 linebacker. Brown holds 27 known NCAA Division-I offers, including from: Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, UGA, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi State, NC State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, USC, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Wisconsin.

ESPN has Brown as a 4-star recruit with an 87 score, as the #1-ranked linebacker, #5 in the state of Georgia, and #20 overall in the nation. Meanwhile, Rivals has him as a 4-star who is #1 in his position, #3 in the state, and #23 nationally. With Brown taking five official visits to UGA and three to Clemson, as well as two visits each at Tennessee, South Carolina, and Auburn, it’s unclear exactly where he might land. Rivals projects a 30% forecast of him going to UGA.
