A new era begins for Habersham Central, as the Lady Raiders have tabbed Karley Thompson as the new head coach. While it marks the end of a three-year stint for coach Bill Bradley, the Lady Raiders’ program will hope for more of the same in terms of postseason appearances – three straight is the longest streak in program history.

The goal for this group? To win as many region games as possible and get back into the state playoffs. From there, we all know anything can happen.

Personnel

Key Departures: Taylor Wade, Hailey Wade, Kelsey Banks

This trio provided so much in terms of production and leadership. Hard to replace.

Key Returning Players: Emma Forester, Jayden Thomas, Joni Littlejohn, Bailey Barfield

It’s a solid core that returns in 2022, and Forester is set to be the ace in the circle. She, along with Thomas, Littlejohn, and Barfield are expected to play huge roles this season and lead the charge.

Strengths & Areas of Focus

Strengths: Returning players who have played a lot of ball together. With that comes accountability, trust, compatibility, etc.

Focusing On: Grooming the younger talent. This is a focus of every team, but Habersham Central has a youthful roster that coaches will look to maximize their potential and help enhance their athletic abilities.
