Quartet named Golfers of the Week


The BLITZ Golfer of the Week Fan Votes collected 626 tallies in the Boys vote, with Jack Rowe (Habersham Central) collecting 496 to win Golfer of the Week honors for the boys. BLITZ picked Alex Hughes (Dawson) as co-Boys Golfer of the Week. In the girls poll, 9,477 votes poured in, with Cameron Kimsey (White) claiming the honors with 4,103. BLITZ picked Katie Grace Randall (Stephens) as Co-Girls Golfer of the Week.
JACK ROWE – FAN VOTE

Habersham Central sophomore Jack Rowe ended his stellar season as a top-5 golfer in the state, coming in fourth overall in Class 6A for the Raiders. Rowe carded a 72 in the first round and followed it with a 73. This makes his third POW award.

ALEX HUGHES – BLITZ PICK

Dawson County’s Alex Hughes came in sixth overall in the state championship meet, leading the Dawson County Tigers. The senior had a 72 in the opening day, and a 71 in the finale. This is Hughes’ second POW award.

CAMERON KIMSEY – FAN VOTE

Cameron Kimsey led the Lady Warriors in the State Championships, placing 17th overall in just her first run in the state tournament. She fired a 101 in the first round, and made huge strides in the second day with a 95. This is Kimsey’s second POW award.

KATIE GRACE RANDALL – BLITZ PICK

Katie Grace Randall represented Stephens County very well in her farewell tournament. The senior placed seventh in the Class 3A field, producing an overall score of 169. This is Randall’s second POW award.
