Jefferson’s Newman named ‘Last Finalist’ to be up for Boys Soccer POY

After narrowing down a list of 20 boys soccer players to just five finalists, we opened it up for a public vote to add the LAST FINALIST. 2,172 votes were logged in total, and 1,027 of those were in favor of Jefferson’s Brandon Newman.
Newman, as a CB who does a lot of things that go beyond the box score, did tally three goals and two assists and played every minute of all 19 games played. Newman joins Lane Lallement (Towns), Sean Lynes, Jr. (Tallulah Falls), Juanes Martinez (Rabun), Cort McCormack (Jefferson), and Kyler Robbins (Union) as finalists to be up for POY honors. BLITZ will vote internally Heisman-style for the winner.
