8 local teams made the state playoffs. Here are the first round matchups and recaps as that information comes in. Banks County, Commerce, and Stephens County are the only three teams alive after the first round.
The Tigers made quick work out of Armuchee with a 2-game sweep. It was a 7-0 blanking in the opener, and a 12-1 win to clinch a Sweet 16 berth.
The Leopards brought the bats out! 15-0 in both games equaled a 30-zip first round that launches Banks County into the Sweet 16!
The Dragons fell in a 2-game sweep at Druid Hills. The home team took a 7-4 win followed by a 7-2 win to advance to the Sweet 16.
The Tigers gave it a solid effort, but after a game one 13-9 loss, they then fell 8-6 to end their season just shy of a Sweet 16 run.
#1-ranked Lovett (top overall team in the state), beat Union County quickly in two games. The Panthers fought hard, suffering a 5-4 opening loss before Lovett took an 11-0 win in the second game to finish off the series.
It was a HUGE 4-over-1 rare upset! The Indians won a 7-3 game one, and shut the door with a 5-0 win in the clincher to reach the Sweet 16!
#2 overall ranked team Pace Academy made it a 2-game sweep of visiting Rabun County. Pace won the opener 9-2 before a 15-0 second game to send the Wildcats home.
The Indians saw their run come to an end with an 11-1 opening loss, followed by a tough 4-2 clincher for Gordon Lee.
