The Jefferson Dragons will open a new era in 2022, as a familiar face to the area steps in as the head coach after the departure of Gene Cathcart, who took a job at Batesburg-Leesville (SC) following a stellar run over the last 5 years. New coach, tons of talent falling off the roster, and jumping up into a new region and classification (from 84A to 85A) makes for quite a bit of unknowns.

The Dragons will have a mostly-new look, as coach Travis Noland (formerly Oconee County and Stephens County HC) takes over the reins of the program. He does return the nation’s top LB for the Class of 2024 in Sammy Brown, who has had a spectacular first 2 seasons on both sides of the ball.
