Make it back-to-back for Sidney Sullens, the 2021-22 Girls Wrestler of the Year.

Sullens is such a fantastic grappler, as evidenced by her 27-12 mark across the 2021-22 season. The 152-lb senior finished as the state runner-up often faced off against boys, and still came out victorious more often than not. The one-time State Champion leaves huge shoes to fill for any other local female wrestler as she heads to Life University.

VOTING RESULTS

  1. Sidney Sullens – 95 pts (19 1st-place votes)
  2. Ollie Weiland – 52 pts
  3. Shelby Agacinski – 41 pts
  4. Brooke Kennedy – 21 pts

Voting included our 19-person panel made up of sports reporters, writers, video producers, former coaches, players, GHSA officials, and sports experts. The voting is Heisman-style, with the following points system:
1st place votes: 5 pts; 2nd: 3 pts; 3rd: 2 pts; 4th: 1 pts; 5th-6th: 0.5 pts

Sullens was the unanimous decision, taking all 19 1st-place votes!
