Trio combines for 6 homers, tabbed Baseball POW

The BLITZ Baseball Player of the Week fan vote collected 28,313 total votes. The top vote-getter was Dawson County’s Brandon Cramer with 15,722. BLITZ then chose both Hampton Hutto (Commerce) and Joel Miller (Tallulah Falls) as Co-POW. The trio all had 2 homeruns apiece on the week.

BRANDON CRAMER – FAN VOTE

Brandon Cramer had a week! The senior do-it-all player (first/outfield/pitcher) hit .454, going 5-for-11 at the plate. As part of that effort, he led the Tigers of Dawson County with 2 homeruns and 8 RBI. He also nailed down a save on the mound. This is his first POW award.

HAMPTON HUTTO – BLITZ PICK

Commerce junior 1B/DH Hampton Hutto slugged a pair of dingers last week for the Commerce Tigers. Hutto hit .727 overall (8-for-11), collecting 8 RBI to go with his homers, and added 3 doubles and a walk. This is his second POW award.

JOEL MILLER – BLITZ PICK

Joel Miller had an incredible week, and one game in particular stood out. In an 18-11 win for Tallulah Falls over Rabun County, the senior outfielder hit 2 homeruns, becoming the first in school history to do it. Miller hit .571 last week and notched a .727 OBP. He had the 2 homers, 2 doubles, 5 RBI, 6 runs, 2 walks, and 2 HBP. This is Miller’s first POW award.
