Chesnee Freeman wins Last Finalist vote for POY consideration


After narrowing down our 28 girls Player of the Year Nominees to 7 finalists, Chesnee Freeman then won the LAST FINALIST Fan Vote with 16,203 votes, edging Towns County’s Sarah Shook (11,329). A total of 35,700 votes were logged. That brings our finalist pool to 8. The finalists are: Natalia Bolden (Jefferson), Gracie Deetz (Rabun), Chesnee Freeman (White), Kamryn Grier (Banks), Ava Hunter (Union), Averie Jones (Lumpkin), Denika Lightbourne (Tallulah Falls), and Mary Mullinax (Lumpkin). Now, the POY finalists will be voted on internally by the BLITZ Voting Panel to determine the BLITZ Player of the Year.
