Swimmer of the Year Finalists

We recently named our Swimmer of the Year Nominees, which consisted of 12 individuals. Now, after careful consideration, we have narrowed down the pool (pun intended) to 6 finalists. In narrowing down the list, we took a max of 2 per school.
WHAT’S NEXT? There is now an opportunity to “VOTE” publicly for the LAST FINALIST. That means of the Swimmer of the Year Nominees who did not make the finalist group, one of those swimmers can join the 5 finalists to be up for the final vote to determine Swimmer of the Year.

Swimmer of the year should not be a popularity contest. You force friends and competitors in the pool to become competitors outside the pool. Just stop. Make a decision based upon performance during the year by a panel.

Vicki, we lose either way. And our panel does decide swimmer of the year. This was only to add a finalist. We already have our initial finalists set. People complain that they don’t get a say so, and then when they do get a chance to be a part, some complain still again
