Junior standouts Shelnut, Grier earns Girls Basketball POWs

The BLITZ Girls Basketball Player of the Week Fan Vote collected 9,255 total votes, with White County’s Maci Shelnut taking 6,450 to win the POW Fan Vote. BLITZ then named Kamryn Grier (Banks County) Co-POW.

MACI SHELNUT – FAN VOTE

Maci Shelnut grabs her second POW award of the season. The junior shooting guard for White County averaged 8.5 points and 4 rebounds per game last week in 2 games played. She added 2 assists and 2 steals per game, and shot 33% from deep and 67% at the charity stripe. This is her third career POW award.

KAMRYN GRIER – BLITZ PICK

This has more to do with the full body of work than just last week, but Kamryn Grier has earned this award all season. She finally gets it after leading the Lady Leopards in 2 games last week. The junior power forward averaged 17 points and 7.5 rebounds, as well as 2 blocks and 2 steals per game for Banks County. This is Grier’s second-ever POW award.
