Girls Soccer Power Rankings – Preseason
With the official arrival of the 2022 season, we took a detailed look at our Team-by-Team Season Previews to compile our official Power Rankings, Preseason edition. This comes with a caveat that girls soccer in our area is ridiculously good! So use is as motivation, bulletin material, or whatever floats your boat. 1-9 is particularly good in our book in this list!
- Commerce – consensus #1 team in 1A, fresh off 18-win season and region title, several All-State players
- Lumpkin County – coming off 12-win season and returning 8 key players
- Jefferson – coming off 12-win season with 8 returning starters
- Union County – coming off Sweet 16 run and return 13 players with starting experience
- White County – coming off 14-win season & return only 2 starters
- Towns County – coming off Final 4 run and return bulk of playmakers, including top scorer
- Habersham Central – coming off state playoff run, returning 10 starters
- Tallulah Falls – coming off playoff run & 8 wins, returning pair of elite playmakers and lots of experience
- Stephens County – coming off 11 wins & Sweet 16, but lose 6 key players
- Rabun County – coming off 9-win, region title season, but losing generational star player
- Dawson County – coming off 1-win season, but getting players back healthy and key players back
- Banks County – coming off 5-win season, bring back arguably best player
