Awarded annually to a school in the BLITZ coverage area since 2009-10, the BLITZ Cup currently resides at Commerce, last year’s champion who had a record 228 points. The traveling trophy is housed at the winning school at the end of each school year until a new champion is named.
Dawson County last won the BLITZ Cup in the 2012-13 year, and won the first-ever BLITZ Cup in 2009-10. Dawson’s current lead is largely in part to the success of the football and softball team in the fall, as well as the cheer team’s state championship. The volleyball team was also very successful, and the boys cross country team made state, thus earning some points for the school too.
