Cherokee Bluff shuts out White County

CHAZ MULLIS – Cherokee Bluff continued their undefeated streak by shutting out the White County Warriors on Friday night at 30-0.
The region champ’s powerful starting lineup proved too overwhelming for the Warriors, who finished off their regular season on a sour note.

After both teams tried taking advantage of fumble recoveries, the Bears came out on top with Sebastian Irons passing to Marlion Jackson for a 45-yard TD pass. The Warriors couldn’t find a response in the second quarter, but Cherokee Bluff kept the iron hot with an 8-yard TD from Jayquan Smith, ending the 1st half at 14-0.
The Bears continued to push through with another score from Smith early in the third quarter, this time from 5 yards. Brayden Nance saw some action during this half, catching a 12-yard TD throw from Irons, putting the game well into the arms of the Bears at 28-0. Cherokee Bluff was able to clutch a safety before the final whistle, ending the game at 30-0.
