Cross Country Region Results
The cross country season has reached the most important portion, with all local programs taking part in their region meets. Here are the results:
BOYS – The Leopards won the Region 8-AA title behind Buck Ledford’s individual region championship finish (16:37). Pepper Davis was 3rd (17:39) and Chase Stephens 7th (18:54). Banks qualified for state.
GIRLS – The Lady Leopards came in fourth. Maggie Irvin was 14th with a 26:58 time. The Lady Leopards secured a state spot.
BOYS – The Tigers finished 3rd, securing a spot at state. Peyton McClure led with a 5th-place (18:49) finish, while Cayden Lord (19:19) was 9th.
GIRLS – The Lady Tigers came in as region runner-up, securing a state spot. Paden Bell was the individual champion with a 21:25, while Ermay Vazquez was runner-up at 21:30. Sarah English was 9th at 24:53.
BOYS – The Tigers finished 3rd, led by Ethan Smith at 4th (17:36), thus qualifying for state.
GIRLS – The Lady Tigers ended up 5th, as Anna LeCave was 8th (21:33).
BOYS – The Raiders came in 5th overall, as Ryan Martin placed 10th individually. Aiden Thaxton was 14th.
GIRLS – The Lady Raiders finished 5th, though Audrey Hotard won the individual region title with a 19:31 finish to qualify for state.
BOYS – The Dragons came in as region runner-up, thus qualifying for state. Matthew Schroeder was 1st (16:09), while Ben Davis was 6th (17:11), and Nate Ferguson 10th (17:30)
GIRLS – The Lady Dragons were the region champs, led by individual champion Katherine Law (19:13). Kiley Powell was 3rd (20:21), Lillian Parker 8th (22:19), Kate James 9th (22:19), and Lauren Hailey 10th (22:24).
BOYS – The Indians came in 4th, led by Wyatt Windham at 6th (17:42) and Ben Sherrill at 10th (18:08). The boys qualified for state.
GIRLS – Abbie Hilchie led the way at 6th (21:05), as the Lady Indians came in 4th and secured a state bid.
BOYS – Rabun finished 4th, as Bo Anderson led with a 10th-place finish at 19:18.
GIRLS – The Lady Wildcats were the Region 8-AA champs. Molly Jo Wright won individually with a 21:59, while Lucy Hood was 4th (23:25), Trea Blalock 5th (23:32), and Itzia Vasquez 6th (24:03).
BOYS – The Indians were 4th, qualifying for state. Grady Sanders was runner-up at 17:24.
GIRLS – The Lady Indians finished 5th, as Grace Witherspoon was 11th (24:26).
BOYS – The Indians finished 3rd, while Evan Prince secured a back-to-back region title with a 16:25. Walker Bailey was 4th (17:56).
GIRLS – The Lady Indians also finished 3rd to secure a state spot, as Josie Chesser paced the team at 10th (22:47)
BOYS – The Indians came in 5th, while Curtis Markham (19:09) placed 7th overall.
GIRLS – The Lady Indians were 3rd, with Jayden Taylor coming in 5th (23:08). The girls qualified for state.
BOYS – The Panthers were region runner-up. Hunter Hartzog was the Runner-Up individually (17:33), while Benton Gregory was 5th (18:11) and Zander Rotko 9th (19:09).
GIRLS – The Lady Panthers were region runner-up. Hana Gregory was 2nd (22:23), Ellie Adams 3rd (23:01), Allie Brey 7th (24:17), Lydia Wagner 8th (24:28), and Natalie Payne 9th (24:59).
BOYS – The Warriors came in 7th, paced by Lance Kelley at 20th (18:50).
GIRLS – White County was runner-up. Nealeigh Broadwell was 5th (20:58), Lily Gearing was 7th (21:08), and Emma Lightsey was 9th (21:34). The Lady Warriors secured a spot at state.
