The BLITZ Softball Player of the Week Fan Vote tallied some 52,404 total votes, with Towns’ Payten Calvert taking 24,124 to win the POW Fan Vote. BLITZ then named Banks County’s Jacy Ayers as co-POW.

PAYTEN CALVERT – FAN VOTE

Coming up large on senior night is what it’s all about. Payten Calvert closed out Towns County’s season with a bang, going 2-for-2 at the dish (1.000 AVG) with a pair of walks as well. She scored a run and drove in 4. This is Calvert’s first POW award.

JACY AYERS – BLITZ PICK

Banks County’s Jacy Ayers is no stranger to the spotlight. The junior pitcher was a key part even as a freshman in the state championship run a couple of years ago for the Lady Leopards. This time, Ayers hurled a complete game, no-hitter in the region title game for Banks County, striking out 5 in the process. This is her 4th career POW award.
