Moledor & Starks named Defensive Players of the Month

Throughout the 2021 season, 8 individuals will claim Defensive Player of the Month awards. After each 4-week stretch, we take nominations from coaches (or make our own based on each team’s top defensive player statistically). After putting it up for a public vote, we award the Fan Vote winner as well as the BLITZ pick. The BLITZ Defensive Football Player of the Month Fan Vote for Weeks 1-4 collected 31,171 total votes, with Dawson County’s Kade Moledor taking 16,602 to win the Fan Vote. BLITZ then named Malaki Starks (Jefferson) as co-POM.

KADE MOLEDOR – FAN VOTE

Dawson’s Kade Moledor has been turning heads for quite some time, and this season is off to a great start once again. The junior linebacker went off for 25 tackles, including 6 for loss, through the first 4 weeks of the season. He also registered 3 sacks. This is Moledor’s first-ever BLITZ award.

MALAKI STARKS – BLITZ PICK

Jefferson’s Malaki Starks is more than just the team’s starting QB. Technically, his recruitment has always been more about what he does on the defensive side of the ball. The stats are not at all going to blow anyone away, but anyone who watches him play knows why. Not many teams even try to throw in his direction. When they do, bad things happen for them. In the season’s first 4 weeks, the senior 5-star UGA commit tallied 7 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 4 pass breakups. He allowed only 2 receptions that were thrown in his area. This is Starks’ fourth BLITZ award of his career.
