Lacy, Crawley Tabbed Players of the Week

The BLITZ Football Player of the Week Fan Vote collected 11,833 total votes, with Jefferson’s Dawson Crawley taking 5,527 to win the POW Fan Vote. BLITZ then named Stephen County’s Cam Lacy as co-POW.

Dawson Crawley does so much more than what shows up in a box score. Yes, he did statistically stand out in a 45-7 win over Southside. In that game, he caught a 35-yard pass, had a tackle, and recorded 2 PBUs in limited time on the field. Still, there are many intangibles he brings. He is one of the best in the state at perimeter blocking. He is also the punter (hardly needed there recently) and as one of the team’s most valuable kick coverage players. This is Crawley’s first POW award.

Cam’ron Lacy has long been deserving of his first POW award. The junior WR/DB continued his monster season with a big performance against Jackson County. He had 124 yards on just 2 receptions, scoring a TD. He added 111 kickoff return yards with an 85-yd TD mixed in. Oh, and had time to collect a pair of tackles and a pass break-up. For the season, Lacy has 233 receiving yards on just 4 catches (58.3 yds/rec) and 2 TD. He also has 200 KR yds and 2 TD, and 52 INT yds, 8 tackles, and 1 INT. What a season!
