September Power Rankings – Volleyball

One month is in the bag. That means it’s time for some updated Power Rankings, September edition. Here you go!

Record: 7-6 (0-0)
Last Ranking: #2

The Lady Dragons have played some tough competition, and are currently ranked #5 in the state in 4A. Until a local team can beat them, they might stay in the top spot for the time being. Tallulah Falls is the only local program to play JHS, and lost. The current 3-match losing streak is about to be reversed.

Record: 7-2 (0-0)
Last Ranking: #6

The Lady Raiders are looking fantastic, with local wins over Lumpkin, Dawson, and Stephens. They have a 3-match win streak going as well, and appear ready for region play. Hab Central moves up 4 spots in our latest Power Rankings.

Record: 10-5 (1-0)
Last Ranking: #9

The biggest jump in our Power Rankings goes to the Lady Tigers, moving up 6 spots with a blistering start to the season at 10-5. They’re the first local team to reach double figures in wins, and are 1-0 in region play early on. There’s a lot to like about this group!

Record: 5-4 (0-0)
Last Ranking: #4

The Lady Indians have earned some credibility with a win over Rabun and Lumpkin, and a loss to Jefferson keeps them here at #4 in our Power Rankings. A recent 3-match losing streak was finally snapped, and the girls still aren’t fully assembled, as they’ve been without key players for a good portion of the season so far.

Record: 7-9 (2-0)
Last Ranking: #1

The Lady Indians are in decent shape. As outlined in the preseason, Haley Dibble stated that the team wasn’t going to put an emphasis on wins and losses prior to region play. That has held up just fine, as the girls are 2-0 in region already. Local wins have come over Stephens and White, and local losses were to Tallulah Falls and Habersham Central. The previous #1 on our list drops 4 spots.

Record: 5-6 (0-0)
Last Ranking: #7

The Lady Cats are on a current 3-match skid, but do have wins over Banks and Stephens. They’ve dropped matches to Tallulah Falls and Dawson so far. They still move up a spot, and should do just fine in area play.

Record: 3-3 (1-1)
Last Ranking: #5

The Lady Warriors drop a couple of spots after losing 2 in a row and falling to Lumpkin. A win over Stephens is the only local victory on record. This group will be just fine and will surely rise.

Record: 4-8 (0-0)
Last Ranking: #8

Banks County holds form at #8. They’ve beaten Commerce, but dropped matches to Tallulah Falls, Rabun County, and Habersham Central, and have lost 5 straight. They’re looking for a momentum-grabbing win.

Record: 1-1 (0-0)
Last Ranking: #3

The sole reason for Union dropping 6 spots to #9 is the lack of games played. It’s very tough to keep them up near the top, even if they are ranked #10 in the state rankings. The team lost to Dawson County, giving us at least a little idea of where they stand.

Record: 1-9 (0-0)
Last Ranking: #11

The Lady Tigers grabbed their first win of the season against Piedmont Academy. They’ve dropped contests to Dawson and Banks so far, but move up a spot to #10.

Record: 0-5 (0-0)
Last Ranking: #10

Stephens County drops to the bottom for now as the Lady Indians remain winless. They’ve dropped local games to Habersham, White, Lumpkin, and Rabun.
