The Biggest Upset – Pickens, unranked, beat #4 Commerce 37-8

Pickens Dragons 37, #4 Commerce Tigers 8

The most shocking result of the night, a 37-8 Pickens win over Commerce. It was 23-zip until in the fourth, Jaiden Daniels scored his first career TD, and added the 2PC to pull within 23-8. Pickens responded with 2 more TDs.

Hart County Bulldogs 49, White County Warriors 13

It started out fine for the Warriors when Silas Mulligan got an early TD run to put White County up 6-0. Hart County then scored 42 straight before White County got a TD pass from Billy Carder to Canaan Cleveland.

Banks County Leopards vs Franklin County Lions (CANCELED)

Banks County’s game was canceled due to COVID issues within the school.

Chamblee Bulldogs 54, Lumpkin County Indians 7

Chamblee was up 41-0 heading into the final quarter with a running clock. Cooper Scott threw a TD pass with seconds left to Walker Scott to avoid the shutout.

Habersham Central Raiders 27, Apalachee Wildcats 7

The Raiders came out with their first win of the season in a 27-7 comfortable win over Apalachee at home. A 7-0 lead was 14-7 heading into the half. Early in the fourth, the Raiders made it 20-7, and scored once more before the final horn.

#1 Jefferson Dragons 42, Central Gwinnett Black Knights 7

Sammy Brown went 80 yards for a TD on the first offensive play for Jefferson, which for a second straight week brought with it a lightning delay. After the break, Brown added another score prior to a 50-yd TD by Malaki Starks. Kadin Bailey’s 35-yd TD run in the second made it 28-0, and Spencer Neese had a pick-six to make it 35-0. Xavier Minish scored a TD in the second half to cap the Dragons’ scoring.

Stephens County Indians 42, North Hall Trojans 0

The Trojans really didn’t have an answer for Ben Stowe, Cam Lacy, Corey Richie, or Tyson Everett. All did major damage as the Indians rolled up a 28-0 lead by the half, and won 42-0 for a second straight shutout win over North Hall.

#4 Flowery Branch Falcons 31, Dawson County Tigers 7

Trailing 14-0, Dawson got on the board with a rushing TD from Jackson Grindle. Flowery Branch would go on to score 17 straight after that.

Armuchee Indians 31, Towns County Indians 14

Towns County couldn’t muster up enough offense at Armuchee, falling 31-14.

Union County Panthers vs #4 Commerce Tigers (CANCELED)

The Panthers had COVID issues which canceled their game against Commerce, who pivoted quickly to play Pickens (above).
