Baseball State Playoffs – Round One Results

Nine of our local teams made the postseason. Here are the results from the opening round of the state playoffs.
BANKS COUNTY 1, HARALSON COUNTY 2
#2 Banks County is knotted up with #3 Haralson County. After dropping game one 10-0, the Leopards took game two 9-3 to force a decisive game three on Friday. An 8-2 loss in game 3 ended Banks’ season.
COMMERCE 2, MARION COUNTY 0
#1 Commerce defeated #4 Marion County 12-0 and 12-2 in quick order, advancing to the Sweet 16!

HABERSHAM CENTRAL 0, CARROLLTON 2
#4 Habersham Central fell to #1 Carrollton 9-4 and 12-1, ending the Raiders season.
JEFFERSON 2, MT ZION 0
#2 Jefferson swept Mt. Zion by scores of 10-4 and 13-3 to advance to the Sweet 16.
RABUN COUNTY 0, BREMEN 2
#4 Rabun County dropped both games to #1 Bremen, 10-3 and 13-3 to end the Wildcats run.

STEPHENS COUNTY 0, GAC 2
#4 Stephens County lost to #1 GAC 13-1 and 17-5 to end the Indians 2021 season.
TALLULAH FALLS 0, WESLEYAN 2
#4 Tallulah Falls fell in two games to #1 Wesleyan, 12-0 and 16-3 to end the Indians season.

UNION COUNTY 0, CALLAWAY 2
#3 Union County fell in two games to #2 Callaway, 6-0 and 4-3, ending the Panthers season.
WHITE COUNTY 1, SONORAVILLE 2
#3 White County took game one over #2 Sonoraville, 9-7, and dropped game two 6-4, thus pitting the teams against each other in game three on Friday. A 5-3 loss for the Warriors saw their season come to a close.
